Meet Chloe
Chloe joined the salon in March 2018, starting out as a shy, quiet Saturday girl, struggling to make conversation. With each week that passed, she started to recognise regular guests, meeting familiar faces each week she gained her confidence more and more, especially as she felt part of the team. Like every junior, Chloe learned how important it was to build her skills in shampooing and customer service throughout her Saturday position.
Once she decided hairdressing was definitely to be her chosen career path, Chloe enrolled at Boston college campus in Spalding, working towards gaining her hairdressing apprenticeship. Chloe started working more days in the salon, while having one day a week attending college, getting the chance to learn and train with Sharon in salon growing her skills. Whilst assisting the rest of the team, observing the other stylists is crucial in gaining knowledge and experience for any new talent.
Learning and practicing all areas of blowdrying, cutting, perming and colouring at college, Chloe continued to gain her skills practicing at the salon on blocks and any willing family and friends. After 2 years of training Chloe achieved the highest pass mark available, a distinction and qualified. Loving her job and gaining a steady column clients shows as she has recently become Employee of the month in January, winning an amazing gift voucher from Leaf scissors. Sharon presented this to Chloe in one of the salons regular team meetings which meant that she could treat herself to a pair of new scissors, which Chloe as very excited about.
Asking Chloe to say a few words about salon life, this is what she had to say.
“I get asked all the time by clients what my favourite thing to do is, I must say it’s massive changes, whether that’s a colour or a hair cut. Vibrant colours are my favourite to do at the moment even if we have to foil first to pre lighten before the application of our range of shockingly vibrant colours. They easily boost someone’s confidence and give you a massive bright change without the damage. Our colour range is beautiful to work with and super customisable. To match the beautiful colours Aveda create they also have amazing home care products with a large range of styling, shampoo and treatments. Each with a distinct fresh smell suitable for all different hair types.
I’ve fallen in love with Nutri-Plenish, however Aveda are constantly developing new and exciting products for hair, scalp and skin, so this always changes! The range is perfect for natural or coloured hair with a gorgeous fruity smell adding moisture to the driest of locks. I’m forever practicing new skills always trying to improve my work and portfolio for my future. Our work is shared to our Facebook and Instagram page for existing and new clients to see different colours and styles for inspiration for any future appointments they might have with us. I absolutely love it”.
