Importance of Managing Menopause

Did you know? Over 85% of women experience symptoms when going through menopause. So if you’re reading this, you’re not alone!
With menopause symptoms lasting 4 years on average, it is crucial to give your body what it needs to efficiently manage them.

It is also important to note that the changes that occur in your body during menopause may raise the risk of certain health problems later on. This is where good nutrition and wellbeing can be beneficial in maintaining your health and supporting you during this phase.

Symptoms of Menopause
Hot Flushes
Night Sweats
Hair Loss
Insomnia
Mood Fluctuations
Weight Gain & Slow Metabolism
Brain Fog & Lack of Concentration
Bladder Problems
Stress & Anxiety
Loss in Collagen & Elastin
Low levels of Oestrogen

Symptoms can be debilitating, with all the changes happening to the body, not surprising women can experience low self-esteem and feelings of inadequacy.

Eating well, exercising and looking after your mental wellbeing can help. Make sure you get plenty of rest, including keeping to regular sleep routines. Eat a healthy diet that includes plenty of fruit, vegetables and calcium rich food such as milk, yoghurt and kale. Get some sunlight on your skin to trigger the production of Vitamin D and take supplements. Vitamin C is essential for increasing production of Collagen, along with Skin Moisture lock, Collagen support and Omegas for dehydrated skin.

Relaxing activities like yoga, tai chi or meditation are beneficial. Nurture yourself by having a steamy bath, that much needed hair do, relaxing facial or trying holistic treatments like Reflexology.

Reflexology has been found to be very effective in helping with physical and emotional symptoms of menopause.

Working on pressure points on the feet, Reflexology may help to regulate the peripheral nervous system, achieved by stimulating the pituitary gland, the hypothalamus and the thymus reflex points.

Restoring balance to the endocrine system may help with hot flushes, anxiety and concentration. By stimulating the thyroid and ovaries on the feet it may help regulate oestrogen secretion, making some of these changes more bearable and relieve the stress and tension that can cause so many side effects.

Supporting the journey with reflexology may help put hormones back in balance and act like a process of emotional cleansing helping to relieve stress and restore harmony in the body and mind.
